Peperomia caperata Rosso

The Rosso comes from the mossy floors of the South American jungle.

Sunlight

Coming from the jungle floor, the Rosso prefers a bright to semi-shade spot, away from direct light which could cause the deep green leaves to fade. This little plant will also be happy under fluorescent lights so might be the perfect office companion to sit happily on your work desk.

Watering

Peperomias are slightly succulent, meaning they store water in their fleshy leaves. So wait until the soil has dried out before watering again, if the leaves start to wilt it’s been too long, water asap by drenching the compost and then allowing the water to fully drain out.  

Warmth & Humidity

The Rosso is happy in normal home temperatures as long as it’s kept out of cold draughts. 

This little plant will appreciate some misting in summer but overall will be happy with average home humidity levels.

Extras

Keep the leaves of the Rosso dust free to keep them looking beautifully glossy and to help the plant to breathe. If it starts to become straggly, trim off the lower, outer leaves to encourage bushier growth.
